Chronokura 1.3 is here — and this update delivers three features you’ve been asking for. Multi-currency support for international projects, a VAT-free mode for tax-exempt freelancers, and four new local AI models for HemerAI.
Multiple Currencies — Finally
If you work with clients in different countries, you know the pain. Euros here, dollars there, Swiss francs somewhere else. Starting with version 1.3, every client gets their own currency if you want. There is still a general currency and you can change it for every client or not if not needed.
Set it once per client and Chronokura takes care of the rest. New invoices, quotes, and dunning letters for that client are automatically created in the right currency — no manual adjustments, no forgetting.
It’s intentionally kept simple – no exchange rates, no automatic conversion. You type whatever you need — €, EUR, $, USD, CHF, or anything else your client expects. The same flexibility applies to your products and services. There is on purpose no automatic currency converter, since it should be possible to run Chronokura entirely local.
Handy detail: When adding a product to an invoice, an orange badge appears if that product’s currency doesn’t match the invoice currency — so you can spot mismatches at a glance.
No VAT — For Small Businesses & Tax-Exempt Freelancers
Many freelancers are exempt from charging VAT — for example under the small business regulation in Austria or Germany. Until now, handling this in Chronokura was awkward. In version 1.3, there’s a dedicated setting for it.
A single toggle in Settings → Invoices → No VAT is all it takes. From that point on, all new invoices are created without a VAT column — in the builder, in the preview, and in the PDF. Net = gross, no breakdown, no wasted space.
Existing invoices remain completely untouched — only new documents are affected.
HemerAI: Four New Models
The local AI built into Chronokura is getting an upgrade. Version 1.3 adds four new models in combination with Ollama to choose from:

Worth highlighting: DeepSeek R1 8B is a reasoning model — it thinks step by step before responding, which makes a noticeable difference on more complex requests. As always, everything runs entirely on your Mac. No cloud, no subscription.
